Unite Private Networks is THE top-of-the-line telecommunication company. We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager located in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role is primarily responsible for directly managing UPN’s market construction teams and will ensure our construction partners are engaged and focused on true construction productivity, on time and on budget.

Specific responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Oversee and manage teams in the day-to-day operations of the network to include engineering, permitting, contracting, designing, implementing, and maintaining of new building adds and existing fiber facility relocations.
  • Assist market leaders in development, planning and grooming of the network.
  • Ensure that the operations team completes all builds, installs all network equipment, approves work has met UPN’s construction and network standards and verify all required documentation (including as-builts and splicing) is complete and accurate.
  • Ensure that the team is on-time and on-budget for all market projects by working with various groups both inside and outside of UPN.
  • Manages all Trouble Ticket and Emergency/Scheduled Maintenance activities on the UPN network to ensure timely handling and resolution to service issues.
  • Responsible for ensuring inventory management follows UPN Process and supports audit and reconciliation activities.
  • Assumes responsibility for contribution to the success of major or multiple projects and is periodically called upon to make decisions.
  • This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years in the Telecom engineering, outside plant, or operations field.
  • Strong knowledge of OSP and modern data network technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, managerial, and leadership skills are needed.
  • Strong communication skills; thorough and attentive to details; able to prioritize and multitask; proactive and deadline oriented.
  • Computer skills necessary in Word, Excel, Visio, SolarWinds, etc.
