EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATIVE ANALYST I (Confidential)

BASIC FUNCTION: Under general direction and minimal supervision, serve as a confidential executive administrative analyst to the Director II, Student Support Services and Executive Director, Human Resources, performing a wide variety of highly independent, difficult, and complex administrative support services. Maintain confidentiality of all personnel matters; and student information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Act as confidential executive analyst, relieving the Director II, Student Support Services of a wide variety of technical and administrative detail by performing independent and highly responsible administrative and analytical duties in activities which support the County Superintendent’s goals, programs and objectives. Assist in editing written communications; independentlycompose, prepare, and assemble materials such as communication updates and summary reports; research topics, collect and compile statistics, financial, legislative, and other diverse and specialized data; compose correspondence on own initiative. Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare and maintain a varietyof complex confidential and nonconfidentialstatistical reports, records, and files for accurate and comprehensive data necessary for effective decision making and mandated reporting to the state. Coordinate training/meeting, prepare agendas, and follow up after meetings to ensure necessary actions are initiated on behalf of the County Superintendent. Maintain a variety of manual and electronic documents, files and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance with county, local, state and federal regulations. Transmit confidential, controversial, orsensitive information involving contacts with a wide variety of individuals. Receive visitors and telephone calls from the public, staff, parents and students; exercise judgement in providing information, referring to an appropriate staff member. Effectively communicate with the senior management administrators, district administrators and staff and members of the public to coordinate activities, resolve issues, and convey, gather, and/or exchange information. May preform general administrative support that includes filing, typing, collating, copying, answering telephones and providing information. Assist in comp and class studies as needed, compiling data to assist Human Resources in negotiations. Perform special projects as assigned. Preform related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES KNOWLEDGE OF: • Administrative office practices and procedures • Correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, document construction, and editing • Application of principles and practices of research, analysis, and project planning • Budget preparation • California State Education Code • Basic concepts, principles and procedures of public personnel administration practices

ABILITY TO: • Maintain a high level of professionalism, communication and interpersonal skills • Organize and prioritize responsibilities • Collect, assemble and analyze data, prepare reports and monitor progress • Multi-task at the level required in a complex and diverse service agency • Work effectively with others in a wide variety ofsituations • Accurately compute business mathematics transactions and review reports for accuracy • Exercise sound discretionary judgment • Prepare, produce, duplicate and disseminate complex information in variety offormats, effectively using a variety of software applications programs including Excel, Office, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Operate modern office equipment • Research, reason, and effectively resolve problems • Conduct research, analyze data, and initiate necessary changes to maximizethe effectiveness of assigned projects • Communicate at a high level of competency in the English language both orallyand in writing, with large and small group audiences • Modify systems and procedures within area of responsibility

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Any combination equivalent to a bachelor’s degree or two years of professional analytical support and experience. • Public school experience is desirable.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Office environment. Constant interruptions. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard. Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person and on the telephone. Sitting for extended periods of time. Seeing to read a variety ofmaterials. Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to file materials.
