Job Summary
Repairs, replaces and installs electrical wiring, motors, relays, and related electrical apparatus and components in industrial lime plant.
Essential Functions
The following is a list of typical essential functions but is not an all-inclusive list:
- Performs general preventive maintenance on electrical equipment.
- Performs repairs and replacement of conduit, wire, breakers, switches, outlets and light fixtures.
- Installs, repairs, and replaces electrical components.
- Prepares inspection forms daily and a weekly time sheet.
- Responds to call outs when requested.
- Cleans Plant area and electric shop when needed.
- Performs all duties safely, taking all reasonable precautions to prevent personal injuries and property damage.
- Complies with the Employee Handbook policies and guidelines.
- Works co-operatively in a team with co-workers to continuously improve departmental effectiveness and efficiency.
- Participates in job and safety training as scheduled by the company.
- Displays an attitude of helpfulness and co-operation to all contacts inside and outside the Company.
- Prepares input for computer file.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Operates forklift and other equipment as necessary.
Qualifications
- Eighteen months’ minimum experience (Level “C”) in industrial plant electrical maintenance or equivalent in training, and moderate skill level in industrial maintenance of electrical equipment.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of electrical theory, electrical safety, and of circuits, transformers, motors, PLC’s, electrical measurement devices, and electrical continuity testing,
- Ability and demonstrated willingness to respond to and handle call outs, and to work all assigned overtime; must have reliable means of contact
- High School diploma or equivalent; technical electrical training preferred.
- Basic math skills such as addition subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Ability to learn to operate forklift.
- Must have a valid Driver License and a satisfactory driving record.
Working Conditions
Exerts physical effort in lifting, carrying, bending and stooping on a continuous basis; to climb maintain balance and work at heights; to see and hear clearly and to work outdoors, motor control centers, main office, property and ranch. Work environment is outdoors and employee is exposed to various weather conditions.
