PLANNING PRACTICE

DESCRIPTION
As a Public Finance Technical Specialist, you will help grow the public finance practice through your talents and network in the industry. You will have an opportunity to engage in business development activities and create your market where you excel the most. You will be an integral team member and perform a breadth of consultant functions under different teams formed specifically to address each client’s need. This may include economic and fiscal impact analysis for municipalities, grant writing, infrastructure funding, market and real estate analysis, performance audits, preparation of studies, field work and interviews with client staff. You will also serve as project manager to interact closely with the client and make presentations.

Work collaboratively on project teams in the economic and public funding space.

Make contact with your client network to keep in touch on industry activities and opportunities

Follow up on business leads and engage in proposal preparation

Keep our clients satisfied working on their projects and communicating with them

Interact with other Michael Baker staff locally and nationally to further company goals

Prepare high quality work products on budget and on schedule

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance/Accounting, Engineering or Urban and City Planning, or a related field, from an accredited four-year college or university.

3- 5 years’ experience in Municipal Finance/Economics/Planning.

Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal, and be able to analyze complex data and communicate them in simpler terms.

Need to be outgoing, organized, independent, and assertive. You’ll also need to be able to network and build relationships with a wide variety of people.

Computer skills using the Microsoft Office Suite, in particular strong knowledge of Excel.

A motivated self-starter who displays a passion for solving problems, interacting in a team environment, and meeting established deadlines.

COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $60,000-$115,000. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
