Fast growing Engineering firm in Thomaston, Georgia has an immediate opening for a Full-Time District Operations Center (DOC) Supervisor I.


District Operations Center (DOC) Supervisors provide support and backup to DOC Operators and the DOC Quality Specialist to supplement necessary functions, to address short term needs, and to achieve optimal performance. DOC Operations Supervisors are responsible for ensuring business functions are met; ensuring appropriate staffing levels; conducting staff performance review and quality audits; coaching and mentoring individual staff; monitoring TM Operations Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Standard Operating Guides (SOG), and Manuals compliance; performing public outreach; and communicating, coordinating, and collaborating with other DOC staff, TMC staff, Department personnel, and partner agencies.


Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Directly oversee the operations of the DOC to ensure staffing levels are appropriate for their shifts to handle the traffic conditions, performance is optimal, and quality is assured
  • Ensure that the Incident Management, Traffic Management dissemination of real-time traffic information, and customer service functions are met
  • Ensure all Traffic Interruption Reports (TIR) for construction events contain accurate information and are entered, monitored, and closed in a timely manner
  • Perform monthly audits on operator incidents
  • Create and oversees shift schedule
  • Ensure employee time keeping is accurate
  • Adhere to TM Operations SOP, SOG, and Manuals
  • Monitor TM Operations SOP, SOG, and Manuals compliance
  • Oversee the training for staff on TM Operations SOP, SOG, and Manuals and ATMSsoftware and hardware
  • Review updates to TM Operations SOP, SOG, and Manuals, and provide constructive review comments
  • Responsible for ensuring that the work atmosphere promotes positive morale on the operations floor
  • Perform quarterly staff performance reviews. Conduct employee quality audits. Coach and mentor individual staff to achieve optimal performance
  • Assist with special organizational task assignments
  • Interact with the training program to ensure curriculum reflects current operational practices
  • Interact with the Operations Training Manager (OTM) and other managers to identify and improve operations performance measures
  • Capable of performing all DOC Operator and DOC Specialist duties
  • Other ad-hoc initiatives as assigned by the Project Management Team

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Full understanding of the Department’s ATMS software
  • Full understanding of the Department’s web-based applications related to TM Operations
  • Full understanding of the Department’s specific software and tools used by the DOC
  • Full understanding of the Department’s SOP, SOG, and Manuals
  • Experience reviewing updates to TM Operations SOP, SOG, and Manuals and providing
    constructive review comments


Education

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience

  • Have one (1) year of experience as a full-time DOC Specialist II or TMC Specialist II for the Department or have three (3) years of experience as a full-time TM Operations Supervisor (or equivalent title) for programs of similar size and scope or have one (1) year of experience as a full-time TM Operations Manager (or equivalent title) for programs of similar size and scope
