Overview:

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

The Division Director of Business Development for the Business Development Team is responsible for hiring, leading, coaching and developing a team of Directors of Business Development. The Director of Business Development will be working within the assigned Division to develop strategies to attain budgeted census. Divisional Director of Business Development will be responsible for driving the overall performance, management, and compliance of their team of Directors of Business Development. At times, the Division Director of Business Development will negotiate contracts for services. The Division Director of Business Development will be responsible for training the Director of Business Development to ensure success, as well as how to manage their assigned Business Development Representatives. Divisional Director of Business Development serves as key liaison between leadership and their Division team in order to improve the performance of associated facilities. Division Director of Business Development positively represents Acadia in the behavioral health community by cultivating relationships to attract business opportunities to the organization and foster strategic partnerships. Division Director of Business Development will assist with de novo (i.e. wholly-owned) and joint venture (i.e. partnership with another healthcare entity) business development event planning and growth through community and joint venture relationship development, business development team hiring and training, and hospital branding.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead, coach and develop a Division of Business Development Directors.
  • Hire and retain top-level talent within assigned Division.
  • Work alongside the Acadia Development Team to assist with new build Grand Opening and Groundbreaking events.
  • Build relationships with new joint venture partners to assist with process improvement for seamless referring relationships.
  • Reviews facility reports, including daily census, weekly admissions, productivity, monthly Business Development report, quarterly plans, etc. and supports team in strategic planning,
  • Conducts pre-scheduled and agenda-driven facility site visits when needed and prepares detailed site visit reports.
  • Conduct training for Directors of Business Development and Business Development Representatives when needed.
  • Serve as a resource and point of guidance to others in leadership positions.
  • Help Director’s identify decision makers in the target markets and reach out to establish relationships within the behavioral healthcare community.
  • Serve as an escalation point for the Director’s of Business Development on high level facility or customer issues.
  • Attend and participate in facility marketing meetings as needed.
  • Ensure all administrative duties are complete, timely and documented; including managing team budget, activities, performance and communication.
  • Assist and collaborate with Division CEO with all reporting related to Business Development.
  • Attend all Corporate meetings/trainings as assigned.
  • Remain current on behavioral healthcare industry developments and assigned states regulations.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field is required,
    • Master’s degree in business, social services or education is preferred.
    • Minimum of five years’ experience driving business results in a healthcare role; preferably in behavioral health.
    • Proven ability to build relationships, lead, manage and drive business results through others.
    • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Knowledge of office administration procedures with the ability to operate most standard office equipment.
    • Ability to work professionally with sensitive, proprietary data & information while maintaining confidentiality.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
    • Exercises sound judgment in responding to needs of their team, removing obstacles from their path
    • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
    • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.
    • Capable of working within established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the organization.
    • English sufficient to provide and receive instructions/directions

    • Supervises a Team of Employees
