As a Distribution Center Assistant, you will help connect the inventory of the Distribution Center with the various ministers at the Seattle Union Gospel Mission. As well as helping support other non-profits throughout King County. This is accomplished through helping donors, sorting donations, leading volunteers, and giving excellent customer service to clients.


Responsibilities

  • Able to accurately and efficiently pick orders for Mission facilities and non-profit partners.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers, donors and co-workers through excellent customer service.
  • Sort incoming donations and place all donations in designated area.
  • Maintain and keep designated area clean, safe and organized.
  • Train and supervise volunteers on proper Distribution Center procedures and tasks.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Attend and participate in all Mission, Division and Department meetings and trainings, as required.
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Serve as backup driver as needed.


  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Warehouse experience preferred; forklift operation experience required, food handling experience preferred.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time; bend, stoop or reach. Occasionally will stand, balance, twist, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms. Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
