The Director of Sales contributes to Astound’s success by leading and developing strong residential outside sales teams across Washington, Oregon and California. This role is a critical component of the west region’s growth plan to deliver on revenue and net gains. This leader is responsible for ensuring the sales teams achieve new customer connect goals, monthly revenue targets and provides guidance/coaching for development across the direct sales channel.

A Day in the Life of the Director, Sales:

  • Recruit, hire, develop and retain effective leaders and individual contributors.
  • Execute plans to deliver customer growth, revenue and a superior customer experience.
  • Create analytical reporting for data based decision making and standardize reports that illustrate sales team performance vs. targets.
  • Analyze individual markets across the region to expand residential sales growth and continually evaluate territory deployment strategies based on market needs.
  • Partner cross functionally to listen, collaborate and develop better business strategies.
  • Establish innovative incentive programs and compensation plans to drive new acquisitions and deliver increased revenue.
  • Regularly review process, policies and compensation plans to ensure effectiveness and consistency in operations.
  • Develop commission and operational expense forecasts to measure cost per sale.
  • Ensure regularity in performance management practices, instill regular coaching and field training support is provide for sales professionals.
  • Implement quality control measurements that support long customer life cycles.
  • Measure and manage portfolios, territories, budgeted headcount etc.
  • Meet regularly with frontline teams, conduct skip level meetings and host quarterly all team meeting forums.
  • Effectively communicates with direct reports, management, other business units, customers and support staff.
  • Seek and develop positive relationships within the local communities to enhance the company’s branding image e.g. tabling events and Multi Family sponsorship opportunities etc.
  • Understands and follows all company safety standards and practices. Understands and follows accident reporting procedures. Understands and follows applicable OSHA and National Electric Safety Code rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in management
  • Knowledge and aptitude of telecommunications Direct Sales or other face to face sales.
  • Proven record of delivering above expected performance from sales teams.
  • Highly productive and prioritizes multiple tasks to maximize customer acquisition and retention.
  • Effectively works and communicates with other workgroups.
  • Facilitates a harmonious team environment.
  • Recognizes the importance of quality in providing a competitive edge.
  • Demonstrated competency in writing, proof-reading and creative production.
  • Highly proficient using MS Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. (Graphic programs a plus!)
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company.

Education and Certifications:

  • College degree or high school diploma; equivalent combination of education and sales experience

Base Salary: The base salary range in CA and WA state for this position is $90,000- $120,000, plus opportunities for bonus, benefits and commission, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities. It is specific to {insert state} and may not be applicable to other locations.

Commissions at plan: Targeted commissions are $40,000 annually. Our sales total compensation offers the potential for significant upside above targeted earnings for those who overachieve their sales targets.
