Director, DTC Sales Strategy

Tolosa winery is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced professional to join our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Team in a key executive position. This position is responsible for developing and implementing a fully integrated sales strategy across all DTC channels, creating an efficient omni-channel operation that delivers higher customer satisfaction, increases engagement, cements brand loyalty and drives continued revenue growth. In this role, the Director will work with the leaders of each DTC sales channel, including the Estate Tasting Room, Alpha Omega Collective Tasting Rooms, Onsite Events, Offsite Events, Wine Clubs, Inbound and Outbound Sales, and E-Commerce. The ideal candidate will be proactive, hardworking, and self-starting with excellent communication skills and a high level of analytic and project management ability.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Drive a significant portfolio of high impact, cross functional initiatives to improve the performance of demand generation, sales, and customer experience
  • Work on strategy projects as a cross-functional leader, bringing together key people from various DTC sales channels as well as the wholesale team
  • Directly manage the outbound phone sales team
  • Lead the development of pricing strategy with internal collaboration partners
  • Analyze channels and prepare reports, assessing their performance and level of opportunity
  • Conduct and/or coordinate research, analysis, and modelling required for the sales strategy
  • Develop and monitor critical success metrics and communicate actionable insights to relevant stakeholders
  • Lead forecasting, budgeting, and planning processes for the sales teams
  • Collaborate with Director of Marketing and management team to ensure consistency in brand messaging
  • Collaborate with other team members to manage the customer database and craft customer journey

Knowledge and Skills required:

  • 10+ years of development and execution of product sales strategies across multiple channels
  • Proficiency in digital as well as person-to-person sales
  • Proven experience building exceptional cross-functional relationships to achieve desired outcomes to become a best-in-class sales organization
  • Enjoyment of the balance between developing a strategy and operationalizing it
  • Both leadership and hands-on experience related to a broad set of initiatives including, for example, putting growth strategies into practice; establishing segmentation and expansion strategies; daily/weekly monthly reporting looking at leading and lagging indicators of success; quota setting; incentive plan design; sales career development; and driving initiatives to improve the performance of the business
  • Acumen to partner and collaborate while building trust internally and externally
  • Ability to develop a vision and translate it into action.
  • Establishes clear targets and measures to track progress toward sales objectives
  • Drive for results, persistence to complete tasks/responsibilities, even in the face of difficulties, while optimistic and tenacious throughout
  • Operates with personal ownership and looks for ways and means to improve performance all the time
  • Experience with luxury products and services; wine industry experience preferred.
  • Availability to work occasional weekends with some travel
