Provides leadership and operational oversight of the administrative processes for commercial products, alternative funding products and stop loss solutions. This includes new sales and existing business implementation process administration for MVP’s commercial and self-funded business. Acting as subject matter expert for internal staff to ensure companywide processes accommodate commercial and alternative funding business needs. Acting as liaison between MVP and its stop loss partners, is subject matter expert for all things related to stop loss insurance. Provides oversight for the entire stop loss process including premium quote submissions, contract negotiations, and stop loss claim submission requests. Proactively cultivates and maintains relations with stop loss vendors to ensure MVP’s position in the marketplace. Continuously monitors the market for stop loss product offerings and best practice development. Proactively cultivates and maintains strong relationships with all levels of MVP staff, including the C Suite to ensure process efficiencies across the organization. Collaborates with Sales leadership, aligning goals to ensure membership targets are met. Develop and manage an annual business plan specific to Stop Loss Administration department, providing regular status reports. Participate in both internal and external teams related to sales operations, customer reporting and community initiatives as needed. Project management support and participation connected with successful implementation of a major service or product feature. Manage account support services for all sales lines (Large Group New Business and Retention, Small Group New Business and Retention) Hire, train and develop team for all functional areas of responsibility. This includes supervision, leadership, training, coaching, and monitoring performance against personal and sales team goals. Participate and represent the Sales Department in the implementation of future sales systems as well as ongoing oversight and maintenance as needed. Participate and represent the Sales Department in key teams that require customer interaction; community involvement and internal project teams as needed. Coordinate, participate and execute Sales Department local events. Lead internal workgroups and task force(s) as needed to implement customer solutions. Performs other duties as assigned by management.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree; preference for marketing, sales, business administration or related field.
  • Six (6) years’ experience managing stop loss and implementation operations, preferably within an insurance or health care setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Experience:
  • Four (4) years prior management experience preferred.
  • Proven successful track record for meeting and exceeding goals.
Required Skills:
  • Must possess, or obtain within 60 days from date of hire, New York State Insurance License in life, accident, and health.
  • Must obtain the MVP Medicare Certification Training within 60 days from date of hire, or prior to first sale, whichever comes first.
  • Superior project management and planning skills. Excellent organizational skills essential.
  • Working knowledge and detailed understanding of sales and account management tools, processes, techniques, and principles.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, formulates strategy, and makes decisions using data and good business judgment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of health care industry.
  • Negotiation and underwriting skills.
  • Sales forecasting and budgeting experience.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Valid drivers’ license and access to vehicle. Frequent travel within MVP’s service area.
