JPMorgan is seeking a highly effective API customer Digital Solutions Engineer to join the DSS team to focus on the evolution of our API ecosystem integration strategy - execution, support and scale. The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Digital Channels Solutions Specialist (DSS) team for North America supports Large Corporate and Financial Institutions Treasury Services Sales achieve their revenue goals by providing technical and consultative support for Wholesale Payments Access solutions across our market-leading digital channels and open banking portfolio of client integration experiences. We cover clients with complex businesses needs that cross North America and international markets. The Digital Channels Technical Solutions Specialist team serves as subject matter experts supporting client engagements and interactions across different industry verticals in the North America region addressing complex business needs, domestically and internationally, across a number of channel integration-oriented functions and disciplines. These include: client advisory and education; end-to-end client integration requirements elicitation; technical solutioning; RFP and RFI responses; client presentations; product demonstrations; pricing and sales training.

Within the DSS team you will cover digital channel management solutions (.com, mobile, API) with specific emphasis on the API Ecosystem. You will engage client developers and support integration and automation of their banking responsibilities directly or via our strategic partnerships across industries and geographies. You will lead the client through the developer journey of integrating API and digital product solutions that fit their needs; this includes providing guidance to clients on product capabilities, gathering and documenting requirements, undertaking analysis and providing expertise with various digital products, testing support and issues resolution.In this role you will partner closely with Technical Implementations, Product, Technology, and other internal partners to ensure effective and successful integration of client solutions using one or more API products.

Job responsibilities

  • Be the core subject matter expert on a set of Global Payments and Open Banking APIs used for client integrations (also developing expertise across the bank and client business domains for which solution which these apply)
  • Support deal teams at pre-sales stage for prospective clients where API expertise is required; provide client advisory, best practice, etc.
  • Lead the client through the detailed process and functionality for integrating API product solutions
  • Manage multiple deals/projects concurrently that may have competing priorities, resources, and timelines
  • Provide guidance to clients on API capabilities, gathering and documenting client requirements, analysis, and expertise with the APIs and back-office system dependencies, testing support, and issues resolution
  • Ensure that pre-work and technical solutioning is integrated into the client implementation process to aid a seamless client onboarding
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating and contributing to larger project deal teams and other initiatives
  • Have awareness of the stage and state of the API product set and strategy
  • Identify critical gaps or issues in client solutions and champion resolution (be the voice of the client) where appropriate; collaborate with Product and Technology colleagues to prioritise clients' needs and work with various internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing success
  • Partner with our ERP, TMS, FinTech and ecosystem partners to define and champion new product capabilities and value propositions with a sharp focus on solving emerging client needs
  • Actively network with key industry contacts to understand standard methodologies and emerging technology trends for the domain and how they can be used within the company
  • Perform analysis for best-in-class financial API platform and developer experiences
  • Develop subject matter expertise and leverage gained skills and experience to share with the broader DSS team(s) and product functions.
  • Provide support for technical queries / troubleshooting

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 5+ years of experience as a developer / full stack or data engineer
  • Experience delivering Software as a Service (SaaS), or web API-driven products to technical customers
  • Technical professional services delivery experience with a focus on APIs, integration products (SDKs, connectors, plug-ins), or developer portals
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy with developers and product managers who build financial applications
  • Understanding of the developer data integration challenges and Banking and FinTech landscape
  • Great communicator who can articulate highly technical details to broad audiences
  • Experience writing API documentation and using PostMan, Splunk, or similar tools
  • Work well within a dynamic and ambiguous environment and under pressure
  • Superior influencing and relationship management skills across business partners
  • Strong communication/presentation skills (i.e. creating content) that can be consumed at all seniority levels with both internal and external audiences
  • Bachelor's degree required: computer science, engineering, or information systems preferred
  • Proficient in Visio, PowerPoint or similar tools
  • May require travel up to 25%

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Industry knowledge of Payments products (Payments, Receivables, Liquidity, Trade, Card, Merchant Acquiring, FX, Analytics) solutions would be an advantage, but not, required
  • Proficient with one or more of JavaScript, Python, Java, Scala, C++ languages
