$70,000 - $140,000 a year

Benefits and Arrangement:

  • Project-based arrangement (6 months-1 year initial contract; subject for extensions)

Job Description

The problems that will be worked on by the job are highly ambiguous and non-standard. The solution may be complex or simple. An example is to do a POC on how Docker and Kubernetes be integrated within Sun Life. The DevSecOps engineer should be able to configure Jenkins to talk with Kubernetes to orchestrate Docker worker nodes. He/She will talk with architects and engineers to achieve the correct configuration. After POC, with the help of architects, he/she is expected to implement the architecture in a production environment, any issues arising to the whole CI/CD pipeline is his/her responsibility to fix at a reasonable amount of time.

Core Professional / Technical Competencies Required

-Solid technical skills and knowledge in:

  • Configuration Management, (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, Rundeck, etc.)
  • CI/CD, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment, (e.g. Jenkins, AWS CodeCommit, AWS CodeDeploy, etc)
  • Version Control, (e.g. SVN, Bitbucket, etc.)
  • Code review tools such as (Crucible, Bitbucket, Phabricator, etc.)
  • Web Servers (IBM HTTP Server, Apache, Nginx, Tomcat) and SharePoint
  • App Servers (WAS, Tomcat, etc)
  • Wiki Tools (Sharepoint, Confluence, etc)
  • File Transfer and Security (FTP, SFTP, etc.)
  • Jira configuration
  • Fastlane
  • Monitoring (Nagios, Splunk)
  • Containers (Docker, Kubernetes)

-Experience in developing Continuous Integration/ Continuous Delivery pipelines (CI/ CD)

-Proven expertise with scripting and hands-on programming with at least one other higher-level language, (e.g. Java, Ruby, Python, Perl, JavaScript, etc.)

-Experience with Configuration Management concepts, build framework design and architecture

Knowledge

  • Experience with Agile methodologies, DevSecOps and Waterfall
  • Fully updated with the latest trends and technologies in DevSecOps community
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of DevSecOps specific tools, best practices, and challenges

  • College/University Degree preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics3-5+ years of experience in
  • Configuration Management concepts, build framework design and architecture
  • 2+ years of experience directly related to iOS/Android mobile development
  • 2+ years of experience in development with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, PERL, Linux shell, etc
  • 3+ years of experience in both Agile and V-Model, or DevSecOps
  • Familiarity with object oriented programming and design
