We are currently looking for a Development Manager to join our growing team.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITY:

Primary responsibility is to initiate, direct, and monitor the entitlement and permitting process for multifamily projects. This position will serve as the primary owner’s representative throughout the development and construction process. Drive the design, entitlement, and permitting processes in coordination with both internal and external service providers. The Development Manager will expedite the design process and receipt of all necessary permits and entitlements required to initiate timely construction starts on all planned and approved new construction projects.


POSITION DUTIES

Essential duties:
  • Manage all due diligence and obtain all entitlements upon execution of Purchase and Sale Agreement
  • Exercise primary responsibility for development of land plans, civil site plans and building plans in coordination with other service providers
  • Ensure projects receive all approvals necessary to expedite construction start and finance closings
  • Provide direct support to developers for all multifamily projects
  • Coordinate directly with construction all land plans, civil engineering site plans and building plans throughout the design and permit approval process
  • Serve as team lead and owner’s representative while managing the design process between construction, development, property management and asset management
  • Assist in the preparation of Investment Committee presentations
  • Maintain pre-development budgets and timelines as approved by Investment Committee
  • Attend governmental or public meetings as necessary for purposes of obtaining approvals, expediting finance closings and construction starts.
  • Oversee owner acceptance of construction work


Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Manage consultants to ensure that their tasks are successfully completed in a manner that complies with the necessary timeline for a particular project in order to meet the company’s objectives.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience as a project manager in the real estate/land planning/engineering field.
  • Must be well-versed in reading civil engineering site plans and architect drawings.
  • Experience with SureTrak or similar project manager software a plus, but not required.
  • Experience in the architect field a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering and architect documents, financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups such as Planning Commissions and Zoning Boards.
  • Reasonable command of the English language to permit effective communication with customers and Associates.
