Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility will be to support the technical evaluation and design for renewable energy transactions in solar, solar + storage, standalone storage, microgrids, and other sustainable infrastructure, in collaboration with the commercial team. This will entail:

  • Create conceptual design layouts and electrical diagrams for PV and battery storage systems utilizing AutoCAD, PVCase, and Terabase.
  • Construct energy production models in PVSYST and Plant Predict.
  • Perform technical due diligence on all prospective renewable energy transactions by identifying project risks and engaging engineering consultants to address them.
  • Perform site visits to collect information required to facilitate optimized designs of the energy systems and to derisk them from an engineering perspective.
  • Optimize project designs using a detailed cost-benefit analysis.
  • Support the submission of interconnection applications by providing site single-line and three-line diagrams, conceptual plan set, and ancillary documentation.
  • Support permitting application processes and manage detailed design activities with P.E. oversight.
  • Coordinate with internal and external resources throughout the entire life cycle of the project, including the development, EPC, and asset management phases, to ensure that it meets the requirements of all stakeholders.
  • Additional duties as assigned and/or directed to facilitate commercial operations.
  • This position reports to the Manager of Development Engineering

Desired skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 2-3 years’ experience serving in similar capacity and demonstration of performing PV design and development with multiple types of energy projects
  • EIT Certification preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects, tasks, and functions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Passionate about North America’s transition to renewable energy
  • Enjoys the fast-paced nature of a transaction-oriented business.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
