New Day Healthcare is excited to open a position for a Data Wrangler/BI Developer to join our digital innovation team!

Focusing on acquisition, analysis, curation, and storage, the data wrangler will be responsible for the overall data processing life cycle. The data wrangler will work with leaders and stakeholders to develop data acquisition, storage and presentation solutions that allow our users to gain insight into business operations performance and quality, and addresses business challenges.

A successful Data Wrangler/BI Developer can distill large and complex structured and unstructured data into high quality curated data sets. This individual should be versed in data pipeline processes and technologies, data lake solutions technologies and data presentation technologies such as PowerBI. They should have experience with self-service BI technologies and solutions implemented in a cloud environment.

Job Description

  • Provide data wrangling services to make data (structured and unstructured) consumable through acquisition, transformation, normalization, and data mapping
  • Organize and clean data to remove quality issues, combine data sources, and provide relevant information which may include developing samples used to create analytics models or reports
  • Identify opportunities to enhance standards and incorporate best practices in the areas of data wrangling, data visualization, and data integration
  • Document all major data flows and integrations
  • Research, troubleshoot and recommend solutions to complex business and technical problems. Prepare and communicate through effective presentations and written communications.
  • Identify, locate, and wrangle data from existing data locations (including Enterprise Data Lake EDL), external sources, and new data sources as needed to support analytics and reporting
  • Create and manage ad hoc reports and interactive visualizations to support data-driven decisions and process enablement (PowerBI, etc.)
  • Engage and collaborate with various organizational leaders to support New Day business processes
  • Collaborate with other analytics practitioners to establish and utilize best practices
  • Identify and propose enhancements to current database or data integration designs and/or implementations
  • Knowledge of big data platforms and/or technologies such as Data Lake, Databricks, and Azure
  • Experience in communicating with leadership and technical audiences with the ability to adapt the level of technical detail
  • Hands-on experience in merging several data sources into one data set, enriching, and validating
  • Knowledge of data architecture and data management best practices
  • Experience developing data models and analytical products
  • Experience in or knowledge to learn other lightweight solutions such as Python and/or R
  • Experience in business analysis and working with diverse teams and competing interests for requirements gathering and analyzing technical trade-offs
  • Collaborative working style, willingness to flex roles and responsibilities when needed to support larger team goals and outcomes
  • Knowledge of big data platforms and/or technologies such as Data Lake, Databricks, and Azure
  • Hands-on experience with physical and relational data modeling
  • Expert knowledge of metadata management and related tools
  • Data modeling for relational and non-relational databases
  • Knowledge in Machine Learning techniques and algorithms is a plus
  • Experience in leveraging cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Some working experience in cloud environment

Job Location:

  • BS/BA degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent industry experience.
  • Virtual with some occasional travel
