Ready to join in?* We are looking for a Credentialing Specialist to assist in the onboarding credentialing process for all providers. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills and be detailed oriented. This is a remote position, candidate must be flexible to travel to our corporate office in Westchester, IL for training, meetings and as needed.

Responsibilities*

  • Initiates and maintains Credentialing files for all Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Fellows, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses and Athletic Trainers
  • Tracks physician appointment and reappointment deadlines with area hospitals, keeping all physicians active and up-to-date without disruption
  • Works with accounting department to process appropriate fees, membership dues and license application fees
  • Provides education and orientation for new providers for credentialing process
  • Ensures credentialing functions meet applicable NCQA standards
  • “Point of contact” for associates, supervisors, physicians, vendors, Medicare and state licensing representatives, supplying time-sensitive information in an organized fashion
  • Expedites the credentialing process with hospitals, surgery centers, state and federal agencies, malpractice provider, and all payers
  • Maintains computer files, utilizing spreadsheet and database applications. (Credentialing software or Excel preferred.)
  • Facilitates transition to “paperless” credentialing –creating forms and reports as needed
  • Knowledge of credentialing processes in a healthcare setting
  • Excellent computer skills including, Credentialing software, Google Drive/Applications, Adobe Editing products, Microsoft Office and database creation
  • Ability to act diplomatically and confidentially while maintaining good customer relations with vendors, physicians and supervisors
  • Must be organized

Education and/or Experience*

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • 1-2 years' experience in credentialing or equivalent preferred
