COURT SECURITY OFFICER
Waynesboro Sheriff’s Office. Non-sworn position to maintain security for various courts for the City of Waynesboro. Duties include conducting search of persons entering courts facilities by having them remove all objects from pockets and placing them in trays; physical searches of purses/ cases and related objects, instructing individuals to pass through a magnetometer and/or search using a hand-held magnetometer; as well as visual observation for weapons and/or contraband. Must present neat professional appearance and be courteous and polite in interactions with the public, as well as be physically fit to perform the duties assigned. Must have thorough knowledge to identify various weapons and types of illegal contraband. Prior experience in law enforcement or security related field preferred or demonstrate the ability to learn both the legal aspects and search procedures for the position. Must pass criminal background and credit check and drug test. 20-30 hrs per week. H.S. diploma or GED.
