SUMMARY

Firefly is seeking an experienced Controller who has a passion for working a high-growth environment. We are looking for a detail oriented, roll-up-your-sleeves energetic person that seeks to make a positive impact with the company’s accounting and financial operations. This position is responsible for overseeing all accounting activities and to assume direct responsibility for the quality, accuracy and timeliness of financial information provided to internal and external parties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the financial monthly, quarterly and annual close
  • Lead the efforts to ensure that the systems, internal controls and infrastructure are in place to support a high- growth manufacturing business.
  • Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, contract analysis, revenue recognition, and general ledger functions.
  • Manage stock based compensation and equity, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, contract analysis, revenue recognition, and general ledger functions
  • Primary interface with our external auditor and government auditors.
  • Responsible for cost accounting activities including maintenance of standard costs and inventory reporting .
  • Responsible for financial reporting, including statutory reporting and tax reporting
  • Ad hoc reporting
  • Responsible for accounting function process improvements and process automation

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in accounting
  • CPA is required
  • Public company experience at a hardware and manufacturing environment is mandatory
  • 15+ years’ experience in the accounting and finance.
  • 7+ years experience managing accountants and the accounting and finance process.
  • Experience with SOX404 and internal controls.

Qualifications

  • Credibility, ethical, full disclosure and clean financial history
  • Experience with cost accounting and international subsidiaries required
  • Ability to handle confidential information including payroll and other data
  • Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product
  • Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner
  • Must understand GAAP, ASC606 revenue recognition standards, SOX 404 internal controls and financial reporting technical skills
  • Experience with excel financial modeling and Board level Powerpoint presentations
