We are growing! Kohler has begun construction on a new 1 million-square-foot manufacturing facility on 200 acres in the industrial corridor of Casa Grande, AZ. We are looking for passionate talent to join our leadership team. This role will be based at our Casa Grande facility once it is open. The role will work hybrid or fully remote leading up to the opening.

What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for an innovative Digital Transformation Engineer to implement, maintain and improve Digital Transformation initiatives in regard to people, process, and technology at our Casa Grande Vikrell (CGV) manufacturing facility. You will be a great fit for this role if you have technical capabilities in industrial controls design, programming, electrical wiring, network architecture, and industrial safety standards. In this role, you will also focus on continuous improvement efforts, supporting production, safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Sustain and improve operational technology (OT) connectivity to manufacturing processes.
  • Support the training of plant resources, including engineering peers, maintenance personnel, manufacturing associates, front line leaders, supervisors, and managers, in use of the tools and technologies deployed.
  • Participate in business reviews through sharing of technical knowledge, system design, capital/financial planning, and current-state readiness reporting.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with plant associates, global corporate teams, and external equipment suppliers to ensure adherence to Kohler’s machinery safety, automation, and other standards.
  • Act as first line of help for newly deployed projects and improvements to assist troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Provide software configuration and programming modifications to PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, Kepware, and Smart Factory application(s).
  • Remain up to date on software, technology, and processes and help align the operating culture to support innovative changes/advancements.
  • Prepare material quotes, parts lists, and documentation for plant equipment.

Skills/Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar field of study, from an ABET accredited engineering OR engineering technology program.
  • 4+ years of experience in industrial controls and lean manufacturing principles in a manufacturing environment.
  • An advanced degree may be substituted for certain experience gaps at the discretion of the hiring manager.
  • Experience related to electrical controls design, automation, and digital transformation initiatives required.
  • Experience with SAP, Power BI, Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform, and/or PTC’s ThingWorx platform is preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Higher-level programming knowledge (i.e., C#, C++, Java, Python, Visual Basic) is a plus.
  • Must be self-motivated and with the ability to function within a project team environment.
  • Occasional travel, up to 10%, to be expected in this role.
