JOB DESCRIPTION


Salary: $110,000 to $115,000 annually

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible and accountable for overseeing the preparation and review of monthly property financial statements. Coordinates the year end audit / tax return preparation and provides required information to investors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise accounting managers and answer questions.
  • Review monthly financial statements and supporting documents.
  • Respond to investors’ financial questions as needed.
  • Manage property cash requirements.
  • Assist operations in interpreting financial results.
  • Assist with proration calculations for property sales.
  • Oversee month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements are completed.
  • Assist with and review annual budgets.
  • Oversee annual distributions.
  • Global investor reporting.
  • Document processes.
  • Develop and implement continuous process improvement and efficiencies.
  • Coordinate Audit and Tax Return process.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory and willingness to research and resolve accounting application
  • 7 years of experience
  • Experience in real estate / property management preferred, but not required
  • A combination of education and experience is acceptable
  • CPA Designation Required
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish directives
  • Proactive and independent approach to research and problem solving
  • Language Skills - Ability to read, write, interpret and analyze technical/scientific journals, financial reports and legal information. Ability to respond to questions or requests from regulatory agencies and the business community. Ability to effectively write speeches, articles, and presentations and then present the information to management, employees, and/or the general public.
  • Math Skills - Ability to work with concepts such as probability, statistical inference and fundamentals of geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to situations.
  • Reasoning Skills - Ability to define issues, collect information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in various forms and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Skills – Advanced skills with MS Office and Accounting software.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Continuing education required to maintain professional certification.
  • Ongoing professional development.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Rarely must stand, walk, stoop, kneel crouch, crawl, bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally must sit, use hands to finger/handle/feel, and reach with hands/arms.
  • Regularly must talk and hear.
  • Close vision is required.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Normally works in an environment with moderate noise.
  • Requires at least 2 days in office each week
