Dixon Ticonderoga Company (formerly known as Pacon Corporation) is seeking a Content Manager-Consumer Engagement at our North America headquarters. Our mission is to engage, inspire and empower teachers, students, and artists to be their best by providing superior educational and art products. The Dixon Ticonderoga Company portfolio includes trusted brands across art and education products, including the iconic Ticonderoga #2 pencil, and serves both School Distributors and Retail Markets. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Integrated Marketing, the Content Manager-Consumer Engagement is responsible for strategizing, creating, and managing branded content that works to build awareness of and drive engagement with the Dixon Ticonderoga portfolio of brands. The role will work to identify content gaps and needs for the brands in the portfolio, will work closely with our integrated marketing, brand, corporate communications, and agency teams to create and curate best in-class content and experiences on our owned, paid, and social media channels, and will organize, manage, and maintain all content and assets in our PIM and DAM systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Needs Identification
    • Partner with product managers to translate business strategy to content strategy for our portfolio of brands.
    • Monitor media trends to generate new ideas for our business.
    • Ideate content executions in support of various brand products and programs.
    • Adapt ideas to engage with a variety of target audiences.
    • Optimize future work and strategies by evaluating past work to identify drivers of success and failure.
  • Content Development
    • Utilize product manager product and category expertise to guide idea development.
    • Develop proactive content ideas and innovative creative solutions that address brand and business goals.
    • Ideate and copywrite for marketing channels such as website, blogs, social media strategy and post content, email, digital ads, paid social ads, and ecommerce ads.
    • Ensure visual and written content reflect the brand image and voice across all touchpoints.
    • Present concepts to project stakeholders and marketing/creative leadership with clarity and conviction.
  • Multi-Channel Distribution
    • Carefully orchestrate and maintain the content calendars across our portfolio of brands.
    • Monitor implementation of content across channels to ensure consistent delivery of key strategies and messages.
    • Adapt content to specific strategies and needs across various channels to maximize marketing impact.
    • Ensure that work and access control is properly maintained within our asset management systems. (e.g., DAM, PIM, etc.)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, or Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, or Creative Writing preferred
  • Proven work experience that spans the entire content lifecycle
  • Portfolio that demonstrates copywriting skills and brand ideas across a variety of marketing channels and applications
  • Deep understanding of AP style of writing and proofing and keen eye for detail
  • Knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics using Google platform or SEM Rush, etc.
  • Experience with a wide range of social media platforms and social management systems such as Hootsuite or Sprout Social, etc.
  • Experience working with asset management systems such as Salsify or Adobe, etc. (DAM, PIM)
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Highly proficient in MS suite
  • Familiarity with national retailer e-commerce systems
  • Basic online publishing knowledge
  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) including providing agency feedback
  • Demonstrated time and project management skills
