Powell RYKA is looking for an experienced, upbeat, and knowledgeable commercial construction superintendent to join our team. Powell RYKA is a full-service commercial General Contractor specializing in retail developments, public sector and tenant improvements projects throughout Washington, Oregon, and Utah for over twenty years. We are looking for a working commercial construction superintendent to supervise daily activities on the jobsite and act as the on-site coordinator on behalf of the GC. This is a hands-on position in completing a wide variety of construction tasks. A good understanding of construction materials and methods is required.

An ideal construction superintendent candidate will bring a broad range of construction skills to the table to accomplish commercial, high-end finishes, occupied high rise and retail tenant improvement projects. The right person will be able to interface with coworkers, other tradespeople on the job, and the client to benefit the project and the company.

Journey level+ desired.

  • REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass Drug Test and Background Check
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to walk 6-8 hours a day
  • Ability to stand 6-8 hours a day
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders
  • Moderate bending and twisting
  • Kneeling and squatting 1-3 hours a day/intermittently
  • Working both indoors and outdoors in weather with some exposure to noise, dust, and or machinery

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read construction plans and create project schedules.
  • Experience managing day to day operations of a construction site.
  • Experience with and knowledge of commercial remodeling and construction trades (framing, flooring, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, finish work, etc.).
  • Experience with management of laborers and multiple subcontractors.
  • Good PC skills: MS Office and Project, Bluebeam

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Organizing work site
  • Property protection
  • Use of multiple hand and power tools
  • Use of ladders and scaffolding
  • Construction clean-up
  • Light demolition
  • Carpentry and other construction related tasks

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Daily coordination and direction of the project so that it is safe, and on schedule, in compliance with our quality standards and to the customer's satisfaction.
  • Responsible for the coordination of all company and subcontractor activities on site including client vendors.
  • Receive & review all deliveries to the job site.
  • Job-site safety, protection, and cleanliness.
  • Send daily project / progress and schedule updates.
