Position Summary:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for leading and managing all operational aspects of the trucking company. The COO will play a key role in ensuring the company's growth and profitability by overseeing the daily operations and defining and implementing strategies that align with the company's mission and vision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive operational efficiency, improve customer satisfaction, and increase profitability.
  • Oversee and manage all operational functions including logistics, transportation, maintenance, safety, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure cross-functional alignment and execution of company-wide initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, suppliers, and employees.
  • Monitor market trends and assess the competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices.
  • Develop and manage the operational budget and ensure financial targets are met.
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of operational managers and supervisors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the trucking industry, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Excellent strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and cost control.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Passion for the trucking industry and a commitment to safety, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.

Pay:
  • The pay is competitive, depending on experience ($120K - $300K) and will be discussed during an in-person interview.
