The Sisters of Bon Secours, located in Marriottsville, Maryland, seek candidates for a part-time Certified Nursing Assistant. This position has benefits. Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work required. Vaccination for Covid-19 required.

A Certified Medicine Aid (CMA)/Certified Nursing Assistant provides direct personal care for residents during day/evening/night shifts. The role of the CMA is to guide or assist residents with those activities of daily living (ADL's) that they are unable to perform without guidance, prepare, dispense, and record medications and perform all other duties as assigned while fostering at all times sister's independence and freedom of choice. All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the assisted living philosophy.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of the position are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with the mission, values and operating principles of The Sisters of Bon Secours, and in-line with the organization’s Code of Conduct.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide direct patient care as prescribed by routine or care plan
• Prepares, dispenses, and records daily medications for each shift per physician's orders
• Chart all vital signs as ordered
• Serves meals, washes dishes, clears and sets table. Feed and assists Sisters as needed
• Laundry of Sister's/resident's clothing and bed linen daily and per weekly schedule and when needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of approved Nursing assistant/medicine aid training program or must obtain Maryland CNA license within 120 days of hire and maintain this license in good standing.
• Must understand medication administration procedure and successful completion of State approved training course, obtaining CMA license with completion of course.
• Food handler, CPR and First Aid certifications are required and must be maintained.
• Must be able to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to document care given both verbally and in writing.
• Minimum six months experience. Must be vaccinated for Covid-19

Preferred:

• Medicine Aid/Nursing Assistant certification preferred with registration in
  the state of Maryland.
• One-year prior geriatric nursing assistant/medicine aid experience
