Why Grocery Outlet?

We are a small, locally owned grocery store. My husband and I are new to the area, but we’re excited to get to know the Everett Community. Working in a small-scale, non-corporate environment has a lot of perks. We see you as a person and are willing to work with you on hours, availability, tailoring the job to your interests, giving you room to grow/advance within the business, etc. Grocery Outlet itself has a lot of wonderful benefits to it. We buy products opportunistically, meaning that when we can get a great deal on a product we will get it, but we don’t always have everything in stock. It’s like a treasure hunt! What we love about our business model is that it is eco-friendly and eco-frugal. It takes perfectly good product and delivers it to consumers at a much cheaper price rather than simply throwing it away if there’s something like a misprint, surplus, or packaging change. It helps people put good, quality food on their tables for much more affordable prices (which is especially important during times like these, with inflation). We also like the small-scale environment because you get to know your co-workers and form a great team bond. Come and work with us if you’d like to be part of a local business venture!

Stocker/Cashier Job Description:

• Assists with receiving loads, breaking down pallets, organizing, and working out product to the shelves.
• Utilizes box knives for cutting cardboard to merchandise product.
• Lifts and organizes boxes upward of 50lbs.
• Merchandises product on sales floor by working new product into the existing flow (grouping similar items).
• Provides excellent customer service by being professional, friendly, efficient, and personal.
• Cross-trained on the registers and willing to assist with cashiering and other courtesy calls as needed.
• Contributes to team by helping in various other tasks where needed

Cashier Job Description:

• Provides excellent customer service by being professional, friendly, efficient, and personal.
• Registers sales on a cash register by scanning items, keying in PLUs, and totaling customers’ purchases.
• Resolves customer issues and answers questions.
• Bags purchases as needed.
• Collects payments by accepting cash, check, EBT, or card payments from customers
• Verifies bills and makes change for cash customers.
• Balances cash drawer by counting cash at beginning and end of work shift.
• Provides pricing information by answering questions.
• Maintains checkout operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Helps maintain well-organized and well-stocked front end
• Contributes to team by helping in various other tasks where needed
