POSITION SUMMARY
The Carpenter performs the carpentry duties necessary to maintain in good repair building woodwork and equipment such as counters, benches, partitions, doors dry wall, paint, flooring, cabinets, ceiling tile and grid. Work involves most of the following: planning and laying out of work from, or verbal instructions, using a variety of carpenter's hand tools, portable power tools and standard measuring instruments, and making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work; and selecting and transporting materials necessary for the work. In general, the work of the maintenance carpenter requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
SKILL/REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of five (5) years hands-on carpentry work experience and/or formal vocational/technical training.
- Must have and maintain a current and valid driver's license.
- Must have knowledge of hazardous material/waste disposal requirements.
- Must be able to accurately measure; possess knowledge of hand and power tools as they relate to wood working; knowledge of drywall, the installation of vents, tiles and suspended ceiling systems; ability to size, mortis and install new door blanks and capable of installing various types of molding.
Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check. May be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance, including successfully completing a thorough background investigation. For positions requiring use of a Company and/or Customer vehicle, must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Hourly rate: $27.89
