Business Enterprise Architect

Info Gain Consulting seeks a a Business Enterprise Architect to support the Medical Research and Development Command (MRDC) at Fort Detrick, MD. The MRDC is the Defense Health Agency's (DHA) medical material developer responsible for medical research, development, and acquisition. The Command manages an extensive extramural research program with numerous contracts, grants, and cooperative research and development agreements to provide additional science and technology capabilities from leading academic, private industry, and other government organizations.

Duties

The individual fulfilling this role shall utilize their hard and soft skills to develop an understanding of the customers overall goal, vision, and objectives. Leveraging this knowledge and experience to support day-to-day tasks and activities. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Establish a comprehensive understanding of MRDC's core business processes and direct, plan, and control the development of technology that supports and optimizes such processes.
  • Update existing E.A. frameworks, models, and domain documentation.
  • Research specific technology trends and make recommendations to updates to the E.A. future state.
  • Ensure projects follow defined E.A. processes and work with project and domain teams to help create the necessary E.A. documentation for alignment.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external IT experts and project managers to provide leadership and technical guidance.
  • Create or update existing Department of Defense Architectural Framework (DoDAF) views, models, and documentation using IBM System Architect.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD Business Capability Acquisition Cycle (BCAC) standards.
  • Aid MRDC customers in creating and reviewing Initial and/or Capabilities Requirement Documents (IRDs, CRDs) and other requirement documents.
  • Aid MRDC customers in IT Analysis of Alternatives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years of experience
  • Understanding and experience with ISO 17024 standards
  • Proven experience in developing information architectures aligned with information lifecycle management.
  • Proven experience performing conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling with data modeling tools and database design in complex, large-scale data environments.
  • Proven experience in transactional data modeling, dimensional modeling, and object-oriented modeling.
  • Experience in developing data models that support inter alia, time dependency, historical tracings, taxonomies (simple and complex), and multilingual data.
  • Knowledge of application modeling languages/techniques (e.g., UML, OML, entity relationship modeling, DFDs), including the ability to create and read the associated diagrams.
  • Proven experience creating enterprise models incorporating master and reference data.
  • Experience in creating data dictionaries and defining metadata management approaches and governance processes.
  • Experience developing and implementing IT architecture plans, Enterprise Information Architecture standards and guidelines, software development methodologies, and strategic plans.
  • Experience in developing data-sharing standards and architecting scalable service-oriented solutions.
  • Solid understanding of transaction and information systems, data warehouses, data marts, ODS, MDM methodologies, life cycles, and ETL and MDM technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience developing scalable design of entities using advanced data structures (e.g., tall tables) is a plus.
  • DOD 8570 IAT certification

Education

  • BS with 5-7 years of experience
  • MS with 3-5 years of experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
