Overview:
As Billing, Invoice and Medical Documentation Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the department and its billing, invoice, and documentation teams which will include direct contact with payors, administration, offshore vendors, and clearinghouse to resolve billing and documentation issues.

Work location: ATI's corporate support center office in Bolingbrook, IL

What you bring to be successful:
  • Managment experience in healthcare/medical billing and collections.
  • In-depth understanding of the medical billing process and clearinghouse transactions.
  • Possess detailed understanding of claims submission and adjudication process.
  • Capability of understanding multiple contract requirements as they relate to billing.
  • Understanding of industry standard file layouts for submission of claims and receipt of payment detail.
  • Demonstrate a strong knowledge of payers including Medicare, Medicaid, local HMO/PPO's, workers compensation, auto accident and personal injury.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure teams meet or exceed billing, invoice and documentation tasks, metrics and initiatives.
  • Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly updates to RCM leadership including information on KPI metrics, initiatives/projects and workflow changes.
  • Troubleshoot system interfaces between practice management software and third-party billing clearing house.
  • Coordinate and hold offshore vendor teams to their SLAs and provide them with clear instruction to initiate and resolve issues during collaboration calls.
  • During set tenure acquisition or divesture situations, devise an action plan to minimize potential revenue loss as it pertains to billing, invoicing, or documentation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of new and changing laws and regulations regarding billing issues in a multi-state environment.
  • Continually improve workflows and operations to stay consistent with the changes in healthcare with payor, documentation, and invoicing requirements which may include partnering with IT, Case Management and Clearinghouse.
  • Maintain a strong culture with onsite, hybrid and offshore staff using effective communication.
  • Lead by example by displaying effective teamwork, collaboration, and ingenuity and promote that mindset with direct teams and individuals.
  • Cultivate learning and cross-training on ATI systems, workflows, and any changes in the industry to ensure optimal performance.
  • Leadership/Management
o Provides direction to, and accomplishes results through the team
o Manages the staffing and deployment of assigned resources
o Oversees all factors involved in talent management including hiring, performance reviews, employee development, succession planning, and disciplinary actions
Qualifications:
Minimum Education
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Preferred:

    Minimum Experience
    Required:
    • 5+ years of healthcare billing & collections experience
    Preferred:
    • 4+ years of billing / collections management experience
