The Software Quality Engineering Team is looking to bring on an experienced, highly motivated, results oriented Automation Quality Engineer with experience using the Katalon suite of products or similar automated test tool.

As an Automation QE Test Engineer, the incumbent will be part of a thriving dynamic team of test engineers. The ideal candidate is highly technical and has a proven commitment to quality with a solid understanding of test concepts, software architecture and familiar with the latest automation methodologies. The candidate must be self-motivated, independent and team oriented with the inherent ability to assist other QE engineers (Manual/Automated). Assist developers with areas of automating unit testing and utilizing these test cases for system regression test cases. The Automation Engineer will work directly with peer(s) in developing an expanding regression automation suite to assist not only the manual QE Engineers but Scrum team deployments. The engineer should enjoy working in an environment that is dynamic and fun loving, where change is constant and communication is open, and perfection is encouraged through collaboration. Must demonstrate innovation, leadership, and mentorship skills in addition to possessing a strong technical skill set. This position reports to the Quality Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute automated test cases utilizing test cases created via PractiTest
  • Maintaining automated testing infrastructure
  • Working with other Automation engineers to design, standardize and implement formal processes for test creation, naming, storage etc.
  • Ability to train others regarding automation test concepts, plus providing guidance and direction as needed
  • Recommend improvements in Software to enhance user experience
  • Assist in Deployments to In-Active region by executing Automated Smoke Tests
  • Comprehensive knowledge and usage of Test Case Management tools
  • Responsible for Katalon licensing, upgrades etc.
  • Working with Developers to create standardized process full-cycle automation from Unit to System testing
  • Create, produce, and provide automation testing metrics to Functional Manager
  • Openness to assist manual Quality Engineers in their tasks
  • Working knowledge of iTMS
  • Execute Smoke/Regression Automation scripts each Sprint
  • Continuous build-out of regression automation test cases per Sprint
  • Upon identification of the highest impact points within application, design, create and execute automated test cases
  • Continuous management, update, and maintenance of Automation suites/collections

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Software testing
  • 2+ years hands-on experience with API testing
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience creating, maintaining and supporting automated test suites
  • 2+ years’ hands-on experience with Katalon
  • 1+ years’ experience using Groovy. Selenium, Java
  • 2+ years’ with Jira, Confluence, MS Teams
  • Experience in Scrum and/or Kanban methodology
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills including expressing complex ideas and concepts to all levels of technical/business expertise
  • 2 + years’ experience in Agile, Development lifecycle (SDLC and/or CDLC)
  • Outstanding collaboration and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated, team player who is comfortable and thrives in fast-paced setting
  • Detail orientated Analytical mind and willing to investigate unexpected results
  • Good time management skills and awareness of deadlines
  • Poise in engagement with Senior Management, client engagement, technical engineers, products owners, and manual Quality Engineers
  • Ability to communicate results, roadblocks, and successes to peers, developers, and management
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work as individual or in a team with a positive attitude, enthusiasm, initiative, and self-motivation.
  • Methodical approach to work, and capable of meeting high standards.
  • Adapt and excel at delivering high quality work, handling multiple simultaneous tasks in a high pressure, deadline environment.
  • AA or equivalent experience

Preferred:

  • Experience in Transportation industry
  • Experience with one of the following Cloud providers: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform
  • Familiarity and skills using: Azure DevOps (ADS), Ranorex, SQL, SOAPUI< BrowserStack
  • Evaluate tool sets, make recommendations, and justify decisions
  • Ability to communicate results, roadblocks, and successes to peers, developers, and management
  • Experience writing JavaScript, Python, Ruby
  • Experience with load and performance testing tools such as: jMeter, LoadRunner, Tricentis
  • Experience querying database via SQL, PGAdmin, DBeaver
  • Experience with headless automated integration API or UI testing tools other than Katalon like SoapUI, Selenium Webdriver, Cypress.io Testcafe, Jest
  • Cloud Automation testing experience
  • Ability to multitask and navigate competing priorities
  • Review and inspect teamwork products and assist QE Manager in providing training, coaching
  • Self-starter with who requires little supervision to get automation cases created and completed
