NORESCO is actively recruiting for an Associate Director, Project Management to join the team in Westborough, MA either onsite or REMOTE

About the Role:

Reporting to the VP- Project Structuring & Finance, the successful candidate will understand and optimize the process for financing of Federal projects under the Energy Savings Performance Contracting (ESPC) and Utility Energy Service Contracting (UESC) procurement mechanisms. Additionally, you will assist Federal Sales, Project Development and Operations & Maintenance teams in financial matters for proposals, task orders and modifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate closely with Federal Sales and Development Teams on financing approach and assumptions used in Price Proposals

  • Review and approve financial model(s) for accuracy. Recommend and implement model continuous improvements

  • Coordinate funding competitions with third-party financiers to obtain competitive project financing offers, and provide analysis of results.

  • Ensure timely and accurate close of such project financing while maintaining appropriate documentation retention for future reference

  • Coordinate with NORESCO legal department to ensure timely review and execution of the financing agreements

  • Review amendments to existing contracts as well as modifications to Task Orders to ensure they accurately reflect the financing parameters

  • Model proposed financial modifications to existing projects

  • Maintain NORESCO’s relationship with financiers including communicating results of financing bids, regular updates on sales funnel, and status of existing projects including notices to and from government

  • Communicate regularly with other NORESCO departments to maintain a good understanding of the status of the projects in construction and performance phase

  • Maintain a tracking system of all projects to ensure compliance with both the task order and the financing agreement terms

  • Maintain a library of project bids, awards, and interest rates for long-term trend data and short-term prediction of probable project interest rates

  • Conduct a monthly internal briefing of the financing markets including interest rates, economy, government actions, or any other factors that could impact future financing of projects

  • Assist other NORESCO departments to resolve matters related to invoicing, collection, task order modifications, etc.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience developing energy efficiency or renewable energy projects or working for a finance or utility company financing similar projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Finance

  • Outstanding financial modeling skills in Excel, including Macros Prior experience in project development Excellent knowledge of financing agreements, including ability to review and negotiate terms and conditions with customers and finance companies Great attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience working with an Energy Savings Company (ESCO), in arranging financing for energy efficiency and/or renewable energy projects
