Oregon Health & Science University Portland, OR 97239

Department Overview:
The OHSU-PSU School of Public Health (SPH), Health Systems Management and Policy (HSMP) Programs, invites applicants for one full-time 12-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning September 1, 2023. The current research strengths of the OHSU-PSU SPH are in the areas of health policy; health inequities arising from institutional, systems, policy, and/or managerial structures; substance use disorders; maternal and reproductive health; sexual/gender minority health; ecological health; and climate change. The SPH and HSMP programs involve faculty with research and applied expertise in health services, health systems and health policy who have primary appointments in other OHSU and PSU academic units, and in research and health services delivery organizations in Portland and elsewhere. The new HSMP faculty member will contribute research expertise in these areas of strength and/or expand expertise through the application of health systems management and policy expertise to topics that seek to address health inequities from a variety of perspectives. The HSMP faculty member will teach at least two graduate level HSMP courses per year, advise and mentor masters and doctoral students, and supervise doctoral research.
The OHSU-PSU SPH is aligned with the American Public Health Association in declaring racism a public health crisis, and our School is committed to becoming an antiracist SPH. We are committed to hiring faculty who have a keen interest in, and desire to advance, the School’s educational, research, service and community engagement missions and values.
