University Advancement (UA) supports the entire CMU community in building relationships with key constituencies and securing the financial resources the university needs to continue its ascent. As the division grows, we are seeking an assistant director, Advancement Analytics. This is an exciting opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment. Reporting to the senior director, Advancement Analytics, you will be responsible for creating reports using a variety of software tools to support the tactical and strategic use of data in Advancement. You will develop collaborative relationships with coworkers to the end of understanding the specific business needs of colleagues, evaluating the effectiveness with which those needs are being met, and identifying opportunities for increased efficiencies through more effective utilization of the university’s software and data.
Your core responsibilities will include:
  • Report Writing: Providing support for University Advancement by creating and maintaining reports using Salesforce and other tools.
  • Collaboration: Developing and maintaining relationships with colleagues in order to understand their business needs and identifying opportunities to support them with reporting and technology.
  • Data Integrity: Supporting the accuracy and integrity of Advancement data by writing reports to identify problems, and providing support to other teams so they can make corrections.
  • Technology Knowledge: Keeping up to date with current technology, through attending classes and conferences as required, and networking with peers from other institutions.
  • Department Participation: Attending team meetings and providing status reports to supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree is required
  • One to three years of experience using SQL or other tools to query a database
  • Familiarity in report writing using Salesforce, Tableau, Crystal Reports, or similar reporting tools preferred
