Overview:
FTI is seeking an AP/AR Supervisor who will work closely with the Director of Accounting and Controller to lead key AP and AR functions within a highly dynamic, high growth environment. The qualified candidate for this role will have extensive experience and knowledge of government contracting accounting practices and the Deltek Costpoint ERP system. This role will be responsible to manage all aspects of AR cash application and AP vendor cash disbursements, as well as any internal controls, compliance, reporting, and analysis related to these areas, all in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and government FAR/DFAR requirements.
Responsibilities:
  • Support the organization’s transformation from serving as a traditional AP/AR support function, to a strategic partner with the business by providing accurate and timely results and analysis and solving root cause issues.
  • Responsible for managing the AP and AR functions, including staff supervision.
  • Collaborate with manager, staff, and other functions ensure all AP and AR processes, inputs, and outputs are running effectively and efficiently.
  • Drive continuous process improvement to reduce cycle times, improve accuracy and quality, and to enable and support continued company growth.
  • Apply advanced government contracting knowledge to perform and/or oversee routine and non-routine tasks involving all aspects vendor payments, client cash application, reconciliation of associated general ledger accounts, contract cost accumulation and reporting, and supporting compliance audits.
  • Support the monthly closing process by ensuring that all direct and indirect AP expenses are properly and accurately accounted for in the appropriate periods.
  • Provide management with accurate and timely financial information for decision making purposes.
  • Support various government contract accounting compliance requirements as needed, including incurred cost submission, provisional billing rate submission, DCAA audits.
  • Support annual review with external auditors.
Education/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Fincance or Business from accredited college or university (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in an AP/AR role within the government contracting sector. 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, FAR, & DFARS procedures and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct financial analysis and calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions.
  • Experience and strong working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint ERP system preferred.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly including advanced Excel functions; experience with financial modeling using Excel models.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve and set departmental deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with a respectful, positive, professional presentation style.
  • Ability to effectively present information and provide timely, reliable, courteous service to internal and external customers.
