Overview:

The Analytics Business Analyst leads development and documentation of Business and Technical Requirements (BTRD) while working with business stakeholders, Technical Services Organization (TSO), and analytics organization staff/leadership. Partners with analytics organization tools and solutions leadership to develop system context diagram which could be incorporated into BTRD. Conducts analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system/technical requirements specifications. Leads and coordinates Data and User Acceptance testing of Analytics Organization solutions.

Bachelors degree required.

Bachelors degree in related technical/business area plus 4 years of business system analyst experience in analytics or IT. A Masters degree is highly preferred. Advanced knowledge of systems analysis with emphasis on customer requirements elicitation and documentation.

Experience in business intelligence, reporting and analytics preferably in a healthcare setting a plus. Demonstrated project management skills as well as the ability to efficiently work and manage teams and resources. Experience working on complex IT/analytical projects with diverse teams and developing business requirements to improve business decision making and operational efficiencies.

Knowledge of health plan and delivery system operations, health care informatics, and healthcare benefits and terminology (e.g., care management). Understanding of operations in the Health Care industry and a strong acumen of business processes, including operations, delivery models and revenue models.

Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies (e.g. Agile) required. Content knowledge related to analytics tools (e.g., Mede Analytics, BO), data visualizations tools (e.g., Tableau), and programming languages such as SQL and SAS preferred.

Working knowledge of healthcare industry and healthcare information standards such as HL7, LOINC, FHIR, ICD 9/10 and CPT codes, industry standard groupers (e.g., ETGs, DRGs, DCGs, etc.) as well as of health care delivery system processes.

  • Organizes and coordinates cross-functional teams to analyze and solve multi-platform business needs.

  • Acts as primary liaison among Analytics, Information Technology (IT), project management, and business areas

  • Leads facilitation, communication and documenting business requirements, translating business to technical requirements, testing base functionality and system enhancements from a business user perspective

  • Manage the business requirements development intake requests across the business units; track and monitor the work to ensure critical milestones are met, identify and report/escalate risks to management appropriately; manage stakeholder relations

  • Assist in determining business needs by effectively conducting fact-finding interviews and leveraging various tools and methods and then summarize findings in a coherent manner to support development of appropriate solution

  • Leads user/ business stakeholders to define business requirements in sufficient detail that systems configuration, development/enhancement, and/or operations activities can be pursued

  • Leads user/ business stakeholders to define business use cases and wireframes in sufficient detail that testing/quality assurance efforts can guarantee system changes/enhancements satisfy the business requirements

  • Guides internal testing/quality assurance efforts to verify functional system behavior

  • Guides the users to coordinate quality assurance and acceptance testing efforts to verify functional system behavior

  • Participates with technical design teams to translate business requirements into technical design

  • Guides other staff to educate/train members of the user community in proper and effective use of the application system

  • Creates Test Plans and test cases to facilitate solution build and stakeholder acceptance

  • Provides implementation support for software components of moderate to high complexity

  • Provides production support for software components of moderate to high complexity
