Moran, Assistant Superintendent of Human ResourcesSUBJECT: Anticipated Positions for School Year 2023-2024According to the provisions of Article XXXII, Section J, the School Department is providing notice of anticipated openings in the following positions: Reading TeacherQualifications: Massachusetts DESE license requiredReading certification requiredAt least five or more years of successful elementary classroom teaching experienceStrong communication skillsWillingness to collaborate with classroom teachers and school-based leadershipDemonstrated expertise in literacy instructionResponsibilities: Teach at least 2 with a maximum of 3 classes per day that support school and district literacy initiatives designed to close the achievement gap. Collaborate with the Instructional Leadership Coach (ILC) on school literacy data.Participate in collaborative instructional planning with classroom teachers and ILC.
Assess students using a variety of measures. Assist with the planning and delivery of parent informational sessions explaining the goals and purpose of Title 1.Participate in parent conferences.Provide direct instruction for reading and writing for identified groups of students needing additional Tier 2 and/or Tier 3.
