Position Summary
Drive and lead the end-to-end data change management, data quality and control management, metadata management and data issue resolution processes across data domains within the Ahold Delhaize USA.
This position will provide input into the overall Finance data management process approach within the Ahold Delhaize USA and globally. This position will drive and lead the management of Finance master and reference data, making well thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous data issues.
This position works cross functionally with data domain owners and stewards in the execution of their data related responsibilities. This position requires focus on data strategy, and data management, as well as a familiarity with business finance and accounting functions to provide support for projects, programs, and operations. This role will also provide thought sharing at a global level.
As a key member of the Finance Data Management Center of Excellence (COE), this position leads and/or participates in testing, implementation and on-going management of data related systems and capabilities such as data change pre-approval process, Stibo Mapping/X-Ref, issue management, error handling, testing error resolution, etc. In addition, this position will support ongoing data governance and stewardship operations, to include definition and implementation of policy and procedures, analyzing data issues, monitoring data quality, assisting in cataloging data elements, defining business terms, etc. Thinking is directed towards clearly defined objectives but requires solutions that build on industry and disciplinary best practice to improve current practice or result in the direct development of new procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
Develops and executes broad reaching data management policies and procedures for review and approval by senior leadership. Decisions influence the team’s effectiveness toward the overall planning, scheduling, and deliverables of the function and overall roadmap. Poor decisions have an impact on medium term business goals. Effective internal and external interactions, secured through strong influencing skills, are an important link in the communication chain of the business unit and contribute to the effective implementation of major projects and/or functional initiatives. Key contributor to drive the overall Finance roadmap.
Leads education and training related to data management policies and procedures to business partners, data stewards and end users.
Drives and leads data related system implementation and management of data related systems, providing creative and innovative solutions to problems that arise.
Manages the data management related reporting environment, including data sources, security and metadata ensuring data integrity.
Applies expertise and core competencies gathered from major projects and functional experience to solve problems for data quality programs through error detection and correction, process improvements and/or process design strategies.
Leads the development and on-going management of the global finance master data change process, including creation, updates and deletions and replications of Finance master data.
Designs, implements, and manages end-to-end data issue management process that includes the identification, tracking and management of critical data issues.
Key Skills
Understanding of finance and accounting terminology and processes - Experience in finance, AR/collections, AP and/or procurement background helpful
Understanding of data governance and data management disciplines, practices and processes - Experience working as a data steward
Possesses knowledge and expertise in data modeling and management techniques and strategies
Familiarity with reporting and analytic tools (i.e., Business Objects, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)
Familiarity with legacy and modern data integration tools and methods (i.e., Mulsoft, Kafka, etc.)
Process oriented and data driven
Experience using ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, Infor, etc.
SAP Required
Experience using querying and analytical tools (e.g., SQL Developer, Power BI, etc.)
Qualifications
BA/BS degree in business or related field
PMP preferred, but not required
6-8 years relevant experience in data governance and/or business data management roles with a focus in one or more of the following areas - finance, compliance, legal, privacy, information security
