AM/PM Banquet Server Job at Marriott at Research Triangle Park
Greet and serve the guests in a gracious and professional manner; serve guests food and beverage; opening and closing side work and light cleaning of immediate work area; lift and carry heavy trays of up to 30 lbs. I. PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: 1. Appearance: Well groomed and pleasant, conservative hairstyle, no heavy perfume/cologne, conservative jewelry, clean hands and nails, neatly trimmed beard or mustache, if applicable. 2. Behavior: Friendly, upbeat, positive, service and team oriented, interested in job, willing to perform as requested. 3. Basic Skills: Manual dexterity, able to lift, bend, twist and move efficiently from table to table and back and forth to kitchen, physical stamina, basic arithmetic, quickness, dependable and follows instructions. 4. Communication Skills: Good verbal communications, good grammar, sales persuasiveness, able to communicate effectively and accurately in verbal and written form. 5. Other: Adaptable to change, willing to work variable hours and days, honest, loyal. II. JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 1. Previous Experience: Food service, fast pace, bartending skills (a plus, but not necessary). 2. Special Skills: Salesmanship, handling guest complaints and special requests, thorough, attention to detail, carries heavy trays, knowledge of liquor laws and responsibilities. 3. Product Knowledge: Food product and beverage product knowledge, sanitation, safety conscious. 4. Other: Trainable.
