Position Summary
Position provides customer service to faculty, staff, students and visitors regarding police and parking services on the UWRF campus and to provide administrative support to UWRF police and parking programs. Responsibilities for this position include radio dispatching; assisting customers via telephone and walk-in; processing parking payments; processing parking permits; reconciling cash drawers; maintaining the program’s website; assisting student workers; evaluating correspondence and bringing vital information to the Chief’s attention.

Responsibilities
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for individuals and groups, provides organizational information via phone, in person, and through other communication mediums
    o Assists walk-in customers and responds to incoming department emails
    o Refers visitors and inquiries to appropriate sources
  • Prepares and audits complex records, edits documents, and reviews work done by others
    o Assists with overseeing and verifying expenditures on budgets
  • Develops, sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures
    o Assists with composing and distributing delinquent parking ticket notices
  • Develops, implements, and maintains methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures
  • Serves as cashier for the department processing citations, permits and refunds, and reconciling cash drawers and credit card charges
  • Performs parking enforcement duties, coordinates towing, processes parking permits and assists in coordinating special event parking needs
  • Oversees student employees including completing new hire paperwork, ensuring correct time entry, and training

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Intermediate/advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to meet and deal effectively with people and maintain an effective working relationship with faculty, staff, students, university officials and the community.
  • Ability to exercise a significant degree of independence for decision-making and work independently
  • Manage and keep sensitive information confidential.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, follow-through, and reliability are extremely important in this position.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to exercise good professional judgment and utilize problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of current rules and regulations regarding University Parking Program preferred.
  • Knowledge of UW policies and procedures related to procurement, payroll (faculty and student), travel reimbursements, etc. preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with an excellent driver’s record that permits Wisconsin certification to drive University vehicles.
