Days/Hours – (Monday thru Friday)
Description
Responsible for accounting needs of the organization using QuickBooks accounting software for inputting and maintaining accounts receivables and accounts payable, reconciling bank statements and handling of cash and cash flow. Also assists in the month-end closing of the accounting system.
The position entails the following duties:
· Provide accounting and clerical support to the Accounting Department.
· Accurately prepare and maintain accounting records and documents.
· Ensures that all transactions are recorded properly, timely, and accurately in the accounting system.
· Resolve discrepancies and maintain contact with customers and vendors.
· Prepare accounting files and documents for review.
· Prepares payments to vendors and payables by verifying documentation, maintaining payment schedules/cash flows, and processing checks.
· Function in accordance with established federal/state standards, procedures, and applicable laws
· Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
· Prepares payments to vendors and accounts receivable invoices.
Accounting Clerk Skills:
· Accounting experience in accounts payable and accounts receivables preferred.
· AA or AS degree helpful in finance or accounting.
· Experienced with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
· Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
· Accuracy and attention to detail
· Ability to perform record keeping tasks.
· Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
Qualifications
Associates degree in accounting or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting or finance. Experience with clerical accounting. Proficient with QuickBooks or comparable accounting program.
Salary
$40,000 - $45,000/hr. (depending on experience)
Evaluation Period: Six months
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
