Position Title: Accountant

NWFF Environmental is a leader in Spill Response, Emergency Environmental, and Health and Safety Services within the Pacific Northwest. NWFF offers Professional, Technical, and Support services in Alaska, Washington, and Oregon. NWFF has an immediate opening for an accountant to help facilitate day-to-day fiscally-based activities. This position will be based at our corporate headquarters, currently in Philomath, OR with plans to relocate to Albany/Corvallis area. The ideal candidate has extensive QuickBooks experience and the ability to navigate within this program's full capabilities, including inventory tracking and reporting functions.

Accountant

Duties (may include, but are not limited to)

  • Development and management of standardized procurement processes and procedures
  • Maintaining register and making recommendations to senior leadership on cash flow utilization
  • Payroll, 940/941, year-end preparation, fiscal-based reporting, team integration, working with multiple stakeholders in a deadline-intensive environment.
  • Coordinate prevailing wage determinations and notices as required by various county, state, and federal requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Candidates with 5+ years of professional experience within an accounting and finance setting, in addition to a solid knowledge of accounting principles, analytical skills, and critical thinking skills
  • Advanced education in accounting (BS or MS). However, we will consider experience in place of a degree.
  • Ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who can achieve larger organizational goals. Which include setting policies, long-term planning, prioritization, risk assessment, and visualizing new opportunities.
  • Ideal candidate will be a problem-solver and decision-maker who demonstrates the ability to have clear goals, identify obstacles, properly diagnose problems, and layout implementation plans the solve problem.
  • Candidates must be clear communicators who can communicate using clear, succinct, accurate, and polite language; avoid unnecessary jargon and acronyms; empathetic to other perspectives; cognizant of non-verbal cues; and mentally present in conversations.
