The Online High School (OHS) at Stanford University has an immediate opening for an Academic Technology Support Specialist to support the team in Redwood City, CA. This position offers a flexible hybrid schedule.

Stanford’s Online High School is an accredited, diploma-offering, highly selective independent high school, offering courses for grades 7-12. The mission of Stanford Online High School (OHS) is to create a worldwide learning community of diverse, intellectually passionate students and teachers. Stanford Online High School is also the new home of Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies (SPCS), which provides a diverse array of academic enrichment programs that take place mostly in the summer but also throughout the academic year. Held, primarily online, SPCS programs serve intellectually curious pre-college students from around the world.

About the role:
The Academic Technology Support Specialist will facilitate the integration of technology into teaching and learning within the OHS community as well as SPCS enrichment summer and year long programs. Reporting to the Director of Technology, this position engages with SPCS and OHS instructors, students and parents and is their first point of contact for any technical related questions or issues that concern any of the technical platforms supporting SPCS and OHS online instruction.

Your Day Will Likely Include:
  • Provide assistance in the direct integration of technology into course curricula. This includes supporting SPCS and OHS instructors in the use of both synchronous and asynchronous educational tools in their classrooms.
  • Respond to technical support request tickets from students enrolled in SPCS year long and summer enrichment programs as well as the Online High School and resolve technical challenges preventing students from fully participating in their online classes.
  • Provide technical support assistance to the SPCS and OHS Student Life teams as well as residential summer program staff during single day and multi day virtual events and in person programs hosted.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic issues on the main school platforms including Student Information System (Powerschool), Learning Management System (Canvas), and Virtual Classroom software (Adobe Connect and Zoom). Escalate complex issues to other members of the SPCS and OHS tech team, other OHS or Stanford departments, and external vendors.
  • Participate in the development of resources, seminars, courses, or workshops to disseminate information about uses of technology.
  • Maintain and enhance technical training documentation and troubleshooting knowledge base for students, parents and SPCS and OHS instructors/staff.
  • Engage in initiatives to encourage faculty and/or students to adopt the use of appropriate computer technologies in their teaching, learning, and co-curricular activities. Participate in the evaluation of new technologies that support online education.
  • Participate in the configuration and logistics of equipment issued to students as part of an equipment loaner program.
  • Stay informed about educational technology developments through lists, publications, and conferences.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $53,000 - $84,000.
