Essential Duties and responsibilities (include the following, other duties may be assigned):
- Communicate with plant storage/loading supervisor on daily operations plan.
- Work with crane operator during product stripping, hauling off to storage and/or sawbed area.
- Work with Crane operator during product loading of trucks.
- Work with crane operator during product organization in storage area.
- Help with maintenance of assigned Mi-Jack Shuttle Crane.
- Provide assistance for mechanics conducting plant maintenance.
- Work with ground crew on position of stripping clamps on the product and operate the device that locks and unlocks the clamps.
- Visually communicate with the ground crew to lift, lower, and position the clamps and product.
- Work with ground crew on placement of dunnage to set product on.
- Work with ground crew on making small adjustments to the position of the product for stacking.
- Manually adjust the position of the slider bars on the spreader beam for proper location of the stripping clamps on the product.
- Work with ground crew on removal or replacement of the stripping clamps from /onto the spreader bar.
- Manually remove or replace the lifting straps from or onto the spreader bar.
- Manually adjust the position of the slider bars on the spreader beam for proper location of the lifting straps.
- Manually place lifting straps on the product stacks.
- Work with ground crew on placement of dunnage in the storage area for placement of product.
- Visually signal the ground crew when picking up, setting down, and positioning product for in storage or on truck.
- Service and maintenance / greasing of crane using various hand held tools and grease guns.
- Assist plant mechanics in maintenance of the plant using various hand and power tools and grease guns.
- General housekeeping in the shop areas, restrooms, lunch room and throughout the plant.
- Constantly work in outdoor weather conditions.
- Loads and unload materials, parts, or products onto or from pallets, skids, conveyors, or trucks.
- Delivers parts or stock to designated work areas.
- Cleans around work areas.
- Separates scrap materials from trash and places them in designated areas.
