The Full Time Youth Program Leader will be a position in partnership with Proyecto Cuidate directly impacting the low- income communities.

Erie Neighborhood House, a community-building agency empowering Chicago’s low-income and immigrant families, and dedicated to promoting a just and inclusive society is seeking an experienced professional to serve as the Proyecto Cuidate Youth Program Leader. Proyecto Cuídate provides individual, group and family services to support, inform and educate the community on topics that strengthen the individual and family unit. It includes:

  • Informative workshops and trainings in areas such as violence prevention, health & wellness, parenting skills, etc.,
  • Supportive counseling, screenings, referrals and case management,
  • School based and after school youth programming

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead in the development, recruitment, and implementation of Little Village Youth programming along with the Youth Program Manager and Youth Advocates; including curriculum writing and updating, creating program schedules and guides.
  • Coordinate volunteers/mentors and Youth Ambassador opportunities and delegate tasks.
  • Conducts surveys, screenings, case management, referrals, and follow-up services as needed.
  • Actively engage and mentor youth, facilitate check-ins with mentors, volunteers and youth, and support with the creation and facilitation of program activities.
  • Work with Youth Program Manager to coordinate Youth Ambassador projects and delegation of tasks.
  • Collaborate with LV Youth staff to coordinate and implement youth workshops, events and safe spaces for youth.
  • Work with the Youth Program Manager to coordinate, evaluate, and report on all Little Village Youth programs.
  • Complete funder required documentation for participants served (e.g. collecting data, tracking attendance, data entry, and completion of monthly stat reports)
  • Be well-informed of community resources and opportunities in order to best assist participants and update community resource listings.
  • Work collaboratively, foster and maintain relationships with partners including CPS school system, other key government and community partners, and collaboratives.
  • Represent the agency and program at various events, agencies, and schools.
  • Represent Erie Neighborhood House to the public and actively participate in community meetings and events as required.
  • Attends team meetings, department meetings, all staff, funder and other required meetings and trainings.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma. 60 college credits related to social work, youth development or social services preferred. At least 3 years’ experience in the Youth Development Programming and Social Services field.
  • Familiarity with community violence, community resiliency and youth programming
  • Strong organizational and effective time management skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Flexibility and ability to work evening and weekend hours as necessary
  • Commitment to social justice and sensitivity to the assets and challenges of a diverse group of participants.
