About Y-Scholars Program (YSP)
YSP believes in elevating people’s growth mindsets so we all achieve higher ambitions. Every day, our team guides Y-Scholars (1st-generation college-bound high school students) so they will pursue and obtain a college education. We do this by offering college-readiness workshops, life coaching, personal mentoring, and tutoring. YSP is 100% free for Y-Scholars. Learn more by going to www.yscholars.org

Your Leadership Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute program activities
  • Recruit students, staff, and volunteers
  • Supervise and train staff and volunteers
  • Develop, manage, and monitor budget to meet our targets
  • Develop program goals and manage actions to hit our objectives
  • Review, evaluate, and improve program areas
  • Develop and improve program curricula
  • Develop and implement new program components
  • Partner with other organizations to enhance our program offerings
  • Attend trainings and meetings to enhance professional knowledge
  • Assist in fundraising and grant application efforts
  • Maintain accurate records on program participants

Your Qualifications:

  • Have at least a Bachelor’s degree
  • Have at least 2 years of experience with youth development, especially with teens
  • Have at least 1 year of experience in staff/volunteer and program management
  • Have a car to travel to schools for meetings and recruitment
  • Demonstrate effective conflict resolution, problem solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Possess ability to engage effectively with diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
  • Have proficiency in computer and database programs necessary to perform the duties of the job (Google Drive, AirTable, Zoom, etc)
  • Obtain CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date
  • Pass DOJ/FBI criminal background check

Our Commitment and Your Commitment

  • Compensation: $57,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year (full-time, non-exempt)

  • Hours: Because YSP is an afterschool program, you must be able to work afternoons and evenings. You may need to work some weekends in order to attend events.
