1st Shift Yard Leader - $18 to $21 per hour + Lead Pay

Location: Titusville, PA

Position Overview: This position is responsible for process leadership in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvements in processing both KD and OSP lumber from the infeed through the kilns. Setting up both KD and OSP lumber runs in the sorter, scheduling, and forecasting. Additionally, the Yard Leader, leads the team by proactively resolving employee issues in a non-union environment, builds teamwork, and ensures adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.

Job Responsibilities:

· Role model safety standards and on-the-job behavior by living Northwest Hardwoods core principles of integrity, fairness, creating a positive work environment, and ensuring open communication among associates.

· Actively lead and participate in the plant safety program including implementing, and enforcing safety policies, procedures, practices and projects.

· Optimizing functional area including production, scheduling, and asset utilization.

· Control and improve productivity.

· Leading the daily activities of the facility to meet unit goals.

· Lead the planning of production activities and coordinate maintenance activities with the maintenance team.

· Fully utilize performance tools for leadership growth and development.

· Any additional duties assigned by the manager including changes in job requirements and responsibilities.

Job Requirements:

Previous Experience in a Leadership position from manufacturing required!

· Demonstrated experience in safely leading manufacturing processes, preventive maintenance and productivity/cost process improvements.

· Excellent communication skills--oral, presentation, written, and listening.

· Ability to effectively work, communicate, and coordinate activities within all levels of the organization. Excellent planning, organizing, prioritizing, time management and delegation skills.

· Experience and proven ability to lead teams in a non-union environment and promote a culture of trust and collaboration

· Excellent interpersonal skills, coaching, supportive feedback, and problem solving. Ability to function as an effective team member.

· Strong mechanical and technical knowledge. Demonstrated track record of success in a complex and fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Desire to develop towards higher levels of responsibility within Northwest Hardwoods.
