The Company:

Meadowbrook Village Christian Retirement Community is a non-profit organization in Escondido that opened in 2009. We are licensed as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) and offer independent, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing services.

The Dining Team:

We have two separate kitchens: one for skilled nursing and memory care residents (in a shared building called Oasis) and one for all other residents and their guests. This position will work with our team in the Oasis kitchen. Due to important dietary orders and restrictions, this job is low-volume but requires high attention to detail.

Kitchen staff communicate regularly with dietary aides and sometimes with residents. Although staff may specialize in a particular area of food prep/service, our team shares tasks to achieve the best dining experience for our residents.

Available Shifts:

Weekend day shift. Saturdays and Sundays 9:00 am to 5:30 pm

Job Description:

We're looking for responsible, friendly, and service-oriented individuals to join our kitchen team in preparing delicious and nutritious meals for our seniors. We welcome all applicants who can work well independently and as part of a team, display professionalism and culinary knowledge, and take pride in excellent service.

To carry out these responsibilities successfully, candidates should have the following qualities:

  • Prior professional cooking experience is required
  • Available to work on holidays
  • Have a positive attitude and service-minded approach
  • Able to pass a fingerprinted criminal background check (Livescan)
  • Able to pass a health screening, TB test, and drug test
  • Able to lift at least 40 lbs. and work on your feet
  • Able to bend, stretch, pull, push, etc. as needed for cooking tasks
  • Be punctual and have reliable attendance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
