ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following
  • Schedule and allocate work to the hourly employees to ensure orders will be picked, packed and shipped in an efficient manner. This involves setting procedures to decide which order to be dealt as a priority, which carrier to use, the time table for trucks coming in and out etc.
  • In the case of returns, ensure that they are checked and stocked in accordance with clients' instructions.
  • Maintain employees’ attendance records. Make sure the employment standards comply with the legislation and conduct performance reviews.
  • Train unskilled employees. Whenever necessary, conduct personal counseling with employees and maintain disciplines.
  • Plan staff requirements to meeting future operational needs.
  • Participate in improving the efficiency of the warehouse operations, i.e. review procedures, modifies equipment, oversee the housekeeping of the warehouse, i.e. safety, security, machine maintenance, layout, stocking, inventory control of warehouse materials, etc.
  • Deal with unforeseen situations, i.e requests for shipment of life saving drugs under emergency.
QUALIFICATIONS Toperform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 2 years warehouse experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Good verbal communication with staff, giving clear and concise instructions. Ability to write clearly.
  • Experience managing employees.
  • Ability to make decisions within well-defined standard practice and procedures.
  • Analytical skills to solve discrepancies.
  • Supervisor responsibilities include work assignments, checking results, recruiting, performance reviews or making recommendations thereon
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience maintaining a high level of productivity in the warehouse
  • Works under warehouse conditions 85-90% of the time walking on the floor monitoring/training staff. Some overtime as required. Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and sometimes more.
Must be able to pass Security Threat Assessment under TSA regulations.
Ability to possess and maintain a TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA) with a status of Passed, or a TSA recognized equivalent. TSA recognized equivalents include a Secure Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat Endorsement issued within the 50 States or District of Columbia, the Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC), or Free and Secure Trade (FAST) card issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. STA’s will be submitted by Lynden International upon job offer and renewed thereafter. Recognized equivalents must be current at time of application and successfully renewed by the applicant thereafter.

Successful candidates must pass pre-employment drug test and background screening.
