Responsibilities:
The VP position provides vision and leadership for developing and implementing company-wide information systems, technology, and data analytics in support of Synchrony's Mission, our staff, and our customers. Responsible for leading cross-functional teams as we enhance our strategic use of technology and data analytics in support of data-informed decision-making across the company. The VP oversees technology planning and assessment, strategic vendor relationships, and the day-to-day operations of Synchrony's information systems, data analytics/decision science, related project management, technical operations, and end-user customer facing system support.

Essential Duties

1. Works with senior management to help define and establish the companies Information System and Data Analytics strategy.
2. Provides direction and leadership to the IS organization in the areas of technology and systems.
3. Ensures compliance in all areas of IS according to Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, and corporate standards.
4. Work in collaboration with the executive management team, and business partners to respond to the business needs and goals of the organization.
5. Responsible for recognizing industry trends in related software, application security, and the application of products and services that will increase competitive advantage, ensuring quality, service, and efficiency.
6. Remain current on technical and professional developments affecting functions within the IS & Data Analytics applications.
7. Facilitates development of standards for IS systems and processes in use by the organization.
8. Provide vision and direction in the development and the establishment of an architectural direction for IS & Data Analytics applications and integrations.
9. Direct the definition, development, testing, implementation, and support of application solutions that meet the organization's current and future business needs.
10. Manage vendor relationships and the ultimate delivery of business application packages to the organization.
11. Lead, direct, and mentor a diverse group of employees while ensuring that Information System & Data Analytics projects and day-to-day operations meet organizational needs and customer expectations.
12. Manager customer facing technology integration and support.

Knowledge of:
  • Computer applications, hardware, software and telecommunications platforms.
  • Relational databases, company data requirements and reporting methods.
  • Software development methodologies.
  • Principles, practices and procedure of compliance regulations as it relates to software licensing.
  • Technical procedures or government laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to the long-term care
industry.
  • Compliance with external regulatory agencies and organizations for all areas of responsibility.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer applications, hardware/ software, and telecommunications platforms.

Skills in:
  • Critical thinking, problem identification, problem solving and troubleshooting.
  • Interpersonal and analytical skills; gathering and compiling information and analyzing and adjusting
discrepancies.
  • Project management from conception to evaluation, with the ability to manage multiple tasks
simultaneously and adhere to deadlines.
  • Interpreting and applying regulatory requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Ongoing development of a servant leadership culture that strives to achieve the highest ethical standards.
  • Organization with strong attention to detail.

Ability to:
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and identify and recommend solutions to problems.
  • Initiate development plans and evaluate standards of IT processes and procedures.
  • Manage multiple tasks and deadlines accurately and efficiently.
  • Deal tactfully with senior leadership, personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government
agencies/personnel, vendors, and the general public.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  • Review and analyze report information, while using critical thinking skills to evaluate data for regulatory
compliance.
  • Organize, prioritize and track multiple tasks with strong attention to efficiency and detail.
  • Work independently, as well as collaboratively, within a team environment.
  • Provide a high level of customer service in a calm and professional manner.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience in Computer Science.

Experience
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in information technology, information systems
    planning, leadership, and management (people, projects, processes, technology, data & security)
  • ITIL or COBIT and Microsoft Office Suite of products experience.
  • Healthcare, senior living industry or long-term care environment preferred.
  • Exemplary computer skills that include knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
  • Experience with Microsoft Data Analytics tools: SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server
    Integration Services, Power BI.
