Veterinary Technician Assistant Job at Berkley Pet Hospital
We are seeking a dedicated Technician to work closely with our doctor. In this role, the Technician will be responsible for assisting in surgeries and monitoring the recovery periods for new and established clients. The ideal candidate for this position will be passionate about caring for pets and will have a minimum of two years of clinical experience in a veterinary clinic. We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented with strong attention to detail and a commitment to team-focused veterinary care.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with non-English speaking clients.
- Demonstrate compassion to animals and people.
- Demonstrate common sense, responsibility, and concern for the public's well-being.
- Perform routine animal care procedures.
- Handle money and make changes accurately.
- Demonstrate computer skills.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when dealing with clients and other medical personnel.
- Ability to take an x-ray
- Ability to draw a blood
- Must be able to lift 45 pounds, stand or walk for 8-10 hours per day
- Advise clients effectively and compassionately regarding prescribed patient care from the veterinary ophthalmologist, both in person and on the phone
- Assist in the maintenance of ophthalmic instruments and equipment
- Skilled in small animal handling -- at least one year of experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
