FOCUS

This role focuses on training and development of our VEG Nursing Care team. You will work closely with local leadership and VNDMs to drive development of the nursing care team through VEG training programs. You will assist in coordinating education opportunities and overall training for your home hospital. You will inspire and motivate your VEGgies in both your home hospital and locally surrounding VEG hospitals to learn and grow.

RESPONSIBILITY

  • Facilitate in-person training for the VEG nursing team at your home hospital based on individual hospital needs.
  • Ensure all training content and activities are in alignment with VEG culture, mission, and vision, and represents accurate, up-to-date emergency medicine and standards of care.
  • Track nursing team skills, content assessments, certifications, and continued learning.
  • Engage in self-reflection and program evaluation practices to modify and enhance the nursing team training programs.
  • Regularly meet with the VNDMs to discuss program development, training objectives, and additional needs.
  • Regularly meet with HM and MD to discuss implementation of new training and/or protocols, training schedules, hospital training needs, and interpersonal concerns.
  • Coordinate schedule with HM and VNDMs to work on-the-floor shifts and dedicate time to training responsibilities.
  • May assist in developing curricular materials, as needed, such as powerpoints, videos, simulations, and assessments to be implemented across the nursing team training programs.
  • May have the opportunity to provide educational opportunities for assistants and technicians at other VEGs covering topics such as CPR, exotics, restraint, triage, nursing skills, anesthesia, etc.
